Plant
Expansion Nearing Completion
Condux to host open
house Oct. 7
A
new addition that will double the size of its current plant will
soon be complete at Condux International.
After
an official Nov. 15, 1999 groundbreaking, construction took off
at a steady pace through last winter and this summer. Now, with
the addition almost finished, Condux will host an open house 11
a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the new facility. The event
will feature tours, lunch and entertainment.
The
new addition will allow Condux to achieve the necessary space that
is needed to manufacture its aerial and underground tool lines.
The completion of the expansion means greater
benefits to Condux employees, customers and dealers alike. The expansion
will double the size of the current plant allowing for more office
space, and it will greatly increase the size of Condux's current
shop.
Along
with adding machines to the shop space, a new Powder Paint Booth
is also being added to provide a high-quality finish to Condux tools.
The new paint system will have a noticeable impact on the quality
of the finish on the products, and it will be more durable, harder
and longer-lasting.
An
increased warehouse capacity will effect overall efficiency. Various
levels of warehouse automation will be implemented, and there will
be more space to store finished products and their components. This
should have a positive effect on freight and shipping.
In
addition, the expansion means more room to train. It will include
a new 5,400-square foot training facility that is state-of-the-art.
The training area will be four times the size of the area Condux
used to use for training, and it will be equipped with the latest
multi-media technology. The new and improved training facility is
located closer to the outdoor training facility, and it can accommodate
class sizes up to 100.
Condux
made the decision to expand based on its acquisition of the Jackson
Tool Systems and the increase in sales over the past year.
